I've raised £1500 to Remove ‘The Rotten’ from Totton 😉

In the 1st Lockdown myself and the young Ben and Daniel Hoff began restoring the paths along our green route and quickly caught the imagination of our local community. From those humble beginnings Team Totton was born
Currently the group have restored so many of our paths and cleared historic litter dating back to before the year 2000. In February alone we cleared over 400 x 100ltr sacks from our roads and verges, recycling over 1000 glass bottles.
Lockdown has proved hard for so many people in lots of different ways. Team Totton has become a lifeline for many in the group. Living alone in lockdown is lonely and isolating. Working within the guidelines we have become a group exceeding 30 like minded individuals, who have made new friends, rekindled old friendships and have a purpose for leaving the house
Having self funded the group for the majority of the time, I am now growing at such a rate that I am having to share equipment between volunteers (sanitising of course)
I‘m now reaching out to our community for help.
Every £1 we raise will be carefully spent, we will be able to equip all of our volunteers with a litter picker, hoop and printed hi-viz along with essential gardening tools used for our on going path restoration. We can buy all of the kids litter pickers and yellow tabbards for days out with Hector the litter collector along with presenting materials for giving talks in our local schools
Our aim is to bring Hector the litter collector bear back out at the end of lockdown to create Hectors heroes club for kids and have already been invited into 2 junior schools to talk litter. We will eventually start adopting areas, bringing neighbours together to further inspire pride in where we live but we need your help to make it happen.
