The decision published on 2 August by the Planning Inspectorate to grant permission for the development of 95 houses at Thames Farm nr Lower Shiplake is completely undemocratic given that it is contrary to the newly adopted Neighbourhood Plan and was opposed by South Oxfordshire District Council, Oxfordshire County Council, Henley Council and both Harpsden and also Shiplake Parish Councils.
The Inspectors method of arriving at his decision was highly questionable and in all likelihood an incorrect interpretation of the Housing figures for the district.

The decision does not give adequate weight to deliverability factors, is wrong in law and constitutes bad Planning at a site which is not sustainable, has major issues of danger for pedestrians and cyclists alike and is undemocratic given all of the opposition to this development.
