Story
Charlie had a very simple but tragic accident while on holiday in Devon, and sadly died on July 11th. He had always been a lively, inquisitive and friendly young man, who enjoyed being involved in activities at Aylesbury Grammar School, Aylesbury Rugby club and the Scouting association.
The event in Market Square is to celebrate Charlies life and help raise funds for two charities, who's work and purpose were influential to Charlie .
Every year Charlie enjoyed holidays in Devon and often interacted with the life guards on the beach. Ironically the life guards on the beach were there to try and save Charlie's life moments after his accident. So for this reason the first Charity chosen to support is the Life guards at Croyde Beach via the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).
Whilst at Aylesbury Grammar School Charlie was able to get involved with the Malawi initiative, which involved fund raising to supporting a School in Malawi. Charlie's fund raising went towards putting a roof on the infant school and providing new mattresses for the dormitories. He was also lucky enough to go to Malawi and help implement these improvements for the children attending the school. This experience profoundly influenced Charlie and made him realise how lucky he was. Charlie truly believed that with the correct support and direct hands on action monies raised would really benefit communities in rural Malawi to make a actual difference and leave a lasting legacy which hopefully will benefit many lives and outcomes.
