I've raised £150 to help install a Defibrillator in rural Dorset - Tolpuddle (NB this is as part of a wider group doing this fundraising cycle challenge event)

Story

Sponsored cycle ride from Bath to Tolpuddle raising money for a Defibrillator to be sited in Tolpuddle (and for other Tolpuddle Charities)

I'm taking part in a fund raising cycle challenge ride over 30 September / 1 October to cycle from Bath to Tolpuddle (following cycle friendly routes, so not in a direct line) which will be apparently around 45 miles per day, and in total 95 miles. I know some might say this isn't going to be a tremendous distance but there are probably going to be several significant hills along the way, and it is supporting a worthy cause for a community that has links for my family. (PS. See note below re GiftAid)

As well as primarily funding a Emergency defribillator (AED) to be located accessibly in the community, any extra monies after that will be split between 3 organisations: the Village Hall (currently being refurbished & extended), historic local church (St Johns; needs ongoing roof repairs) and Mencap East Dorset charity. All the costs of the cycle challenge have been met by the riders involved.

Note - unfortunately none of the small local charities involved are registered on JustGiving (or BT MyDonate) so I've had to do this as 'crowdfunding' without GiftAid. JustGiving will deduct their 5% fee but - up to a point I will try and match/ offset that with my own contribution at the end. If you prefer to do a bank transfer then contact me for details and there might be a route we can then get you to sign a GiftAid form if you are local to me.

Funds raised will be transferred directly to the receiving charity bank account and divided at that point if excess is raised above what is required for the AED defibrillator. A full report of funds raised will be posted here at completion of fundraising.
