Story
Having lost their nana a huge part of the childrens lives, quite unexpectedly and suddenly, it knocked our kids heavily. A massive, positive and regular presence in their lives was gone without warning.
They continue their journey through the grieving process and we feel lucky to have found Jens Special Place - somewhere the children enjoy going - and they get to remember their nana through various activities and help given there.
the support offered is invaluable to bereaved families and it not only helps the children but also parents, in terms of charity or organisation they are tiny, run by committed volunteers and need money to survive so Charley, Harry and Isla are to run the child version of the Great North Run to say thank you and give something back for everything JSP have done for us.
A bit about the group:-
Jen's Special Place is a child bereavement support group based in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire. The group ultimately aims to support children in expressing their grief and exploring their feelings in a safe and emphatic environment; enabling them to grow through each others experiences. Parents and carers also benefit from our service; offering group adult counselling and an opportunity to speak with others in similar circumstances.
