Story
“Until Every Dog Has A Home” is being set up as a non-profit organisation with the goal of providing high risk dogs within the rescue system with FREE, professional behavioural rehabilitation and also to provide assistance to rescue facilities.
The organisation has two main objectives :
1 – To provide residential Force-Free training and behaviour modification for dogs within the rescue system who present with severe behavioural problems and require professional handling and rehabilitation. This would cover a wide spectrum of behavioural issues including dogs with bite histories. The end goal being for dogs to be rehabilitated and then returned to the rescue holding ownership, to be advertised for adoption.
2 – To provide free training to staff at volunteer ran rescue facilities, to enable them to teach dogs in their care basic obedience training and treat basic behavioural issues with the use of Force-Free training techniques. Also to give staff a better understanding of canine behaviour and emotion, and how to set dogs up for success to increase their chances of adoption.
At the moment we are raising funds to buy/build safe, secure kennel facilities to accomodate these dogs during their rehabilitation for free. This is an expense which will cost us thousands of pounds and will also create ongoing expenses for us with heating, security etc. Without our facility, boarding kennels are being used at the moment for the dogs in our care undergoing FREE behavioural training. This however creates a high costs for accomodation for the holding rescue ( a cost which we will be able to elimanate once we have our own kennels) and also costs us in excess of £100 a week in travel expenses for us to reach the dogs for their training sessions.
Every little helps us a great deal and we are eternally grateful for your support.
