Story

I have been overweight since I was 14, throughout my life my weight crept up slowly but surely until I reached a whopping 23st 11llb with a BMI over 50. I had severe asthma, sleep apnoea, chronic pain daily from arthritis in my joints, daily bleeding for over 2 years with no clear diagnosis for the cause, Meralgia Parastethica in my right thigh, high blood pressure, cholesterol and I was pre diabetic.

Concerned I would have to give up my job if my health continued to deteriorate in 2004 I decided I needed to do something about my weight and approached my GP. I spent 2 years on Orlistat tablets and lost around 4 stone. By 2008 I had regained the weight I lost and felt I needed to look in to a more permanent option to keep my weight down.

I spoke to my GP again about surgery and this is where my battle/journey began. 3 applications later all refused with no reasons given, we are now in October 2014 and I move from Cheshire East to Cheshire West and reapply again this time I was placed on the NHS bariatric pathway. For the next 2 years I attended healthy eating classes, joined a gym, visited dieticians, psychologists and surgeons and completely changed my lifestyle in preparation for gastric bypass surgery. On 10th September 2016 I had a mini bypass.

It is now just 12 months on and I weigh 10st 1llb I am 6llb away from my own goal weight, all of the ailments and associated medications for them have gone and I am very proud of myself for this achievement.

I am now left with a significant amount of lose skin around 2 stone of the stuff on my arms, legs, back, breasts, stomach and bum. This brings with it a whole host of new issues physically and mentally and I am determined and really very desperate to have this removed.

My breasts have gone from a 50JJ to 38DD and several weeks ago when removing my bra I heard a snapping sound, and felt severe pain in my right breast looking down I saw a huge indentation, after visiting the hospital I found that due to the weight of the loose skin left after weight loss my coopers ligament had snapped, there is no cure for this and I suffer daily pain from this, I am very scared this will also happen to my left breast and want to have them fixed before it does. I do work and have managed to save some money towards this expensive surgery, but I need some help and I am praying and hoping I can raise some funds on here to complete my transformation.
