Story
Russia’s invasion has left countless Ukrainian children parentless, traumatised by the loss and terror-stricken by constant shelling. As they weather sub-zero temperatures – some wounded, many feeling lost and alone as never before – they are in desperate need of humanitarian assistance.
Members of the Greggs IT team will be walking from Hexham to Tynemouth on Wednesday 6th of April to help raise funds for the evacuation of orphaned Ukrainian children out of areas of conflict. All donations will go to the Helping Wing charity (https://www.helpingwing.lt/about), which transports humanitarian aid (essential medicines, food and hygiene items) to Ukraine and then brings orphaned Ukrainian children back to Lithuania.
The amazing people walking will be Agne Lukosiute, Lloyd Rodrigues Powell, David Clayton, Deejay Brown, Jak McDonald, James Thomas, Karl Smith, Katie Adams, Richard James, Ryan Morrin, Tim Fieldsend, Tom Clough and Molly Herridge!
As an added incentive to our team, if we reach a donation total of over £2,000, a few of us will finish the walk with a cold swim in the North Sea.
