Story
Aim of the project
The 'West Wales Motorbike Project' will work with people who experience mental health problems of all ages and/or their family and friends to learn about motorbikes including repair, maintenance and riding skills. We will be learning about and renovating bikes for people to use. We believe this is a unique project which will enable people to come together and support each other while building new friendships. The overall aim of the project is to promote the physical and mental health benefits through all things motorbike related!
The group has now officially been formed and has been meeting since last year to discuss and plan the project. We now have 6 committee members and other keen volunteers/mentors who have been helping us to brainstorm what we would like to achieve!
This project is being supported by West Wales Action for Mental Health (WWAMH) a registered charity with the Charity Commission (Charity number 1045123) working to improve mental health across West Wales.

Help us to save this bike, without your support this once beloved Kawasaki may never run again...
How you could help
We need volunteers to help in the following ways;
- Running of the project
- Motorbike repair courses and builds
- Raise funds
- Promote the project to encourage people to get involved.
We would greatly appreciate donations of all sizes (no matter how small), the funding received will enable us to secure a premises which we have already identified as being suitable. Any additional funding received outside of the initial deposit required (£560) will be used towards additional months rent, and also any necessary tools, equipment and towards hiring independent session workers/mechanics when required.
We have already received so much support, including the donations of three motorbikes which we aim to work on, tinker and begin to restore! Once we establish a premises we will be able to accept further two wheel donations and equipment if available.
