Story

My name is Yvonne , I am taking part in Pedal for Scotland - The Classic Challenge on Sunday 10th September to raise funds for essential safety equipment and training staff to enable young adults in the Oban and surrounding area to take part in their Rebound Therapy group. Rebound Therapy is used to facilitate movement promote balance, to increase or decrease muscle tone and to aid relaxation and sensory integration. It is also used to improve fitness and exercise tolerance and to improve communication skills. The trampoline is a piece of apparatus that virtually all people regardless of their age and abilities can access, benefit from and enjoy.

The group were gifted a brand new Rebound trampoline by the parents of Scott MacCorquodale from Appin who sadly passed away before he was able to use it. Rebound Therapy was a huge part of Scott's life, an activity which he enjoyed immensely, which also benefitted his health and well being enormously. The therapy sessions are run by Nicola Grainger, a team of therapists and trained volunteers providing opportunities to young adults with additional support needs from the local community to help improve their movement using therapeutic exercise and also taking part in a fun activity. The group have been unab to use the trampoline for the past two years as they don't have enough safety mats, access steps and trained staff to use it safely.

I would love to be able to help the group and let Scott's parents see their donation being used to help others
