Why your donation matters
Maria is a young girl living in desperate poverty in Uganda. She is 6 years old and was born profoundly deaf. When she was less than 2 years old, her parents deserted her, leaving her widowed grandmother to look after her. Without specialist education, Maria will never learn to communicate, she will never make friends and she will have a very bleak, and quite frightening, life to look forward to. We desperately need your help to save St Anthony’s school. St Anthony’s gives the gift of language, education and a life to 50 children now and hopefully hundreds more in the years to come. Our ‘1000 friends for Maria’ appeal could make all of the difference. If we could find 1,000 people who would each give £10 we would be able to save the school.
