Why your donation matters
Find out what your donation means to a family we have cared for - thank you for helping Make Every Day Count
When a family has been told that there’s no cure for their loved one's illness and all that can be done is to make them comfortable, Havens Hospices can help.
Our care at Fair Havens and Little Havens is completely different, but both focus on specialist, individual care. And, of course, completely free of charge.
Our care is often described by patients and families as “amazing.” An odd word to describe hospice care, maybe. But all of our care is completely led by what the poorly adult or child needs or wants.
By making a donation, you are helping another adult, or a child, be as pain free as possible in the most comfortable of surroundings and creating lasting memories for the families they will inevitably leave behind. You will truly be helping to Make Every Day Count.
Case study: donations in action
“To be diagnosed with cancer out of the blue totally destroyed my life but even though I know death is knocking at my door, coming to Fair Havens is like going up into the clouds.”
Terry has a relatively rare form of lung cancer that developed because of having inhaled asbestos particles at his place of work when he was 16.
“At Fair Havens, the doctors and nurses get my pain under control but it is the support from everybody that I am amazed at - I couldn’t ask for better care. Being at Fair Havens takes away my worries for a few hours. I don’t have to pretend I haven’t got cancer anymore.
"The nurses always greet me with a friendly smile and they listen to my woes and fears. There is a lot of fun and laughter here too. They are always there for me.”
