Why your donation matters

Each year in the UK there are 3,400 cases of meningitis. If left untreated it is a disease than can kill a healthy person in a matter of hours.

In the last 20 years research we have funded has lead to many improvements in the prevention, detection and treatment of the disease helping to cut death rates in half.

But there is still a lot of work to be done, almost every day a family in the UK will lose a loved one to the disease and a further 2 people will be left with life altering after effects such as brain damage, deafness or amputations.
