A short film about how Nordoff Robbins transforms lives through music

Can you imagine your life without music? No, neither can we....

Nordoff Robbins uses music to transform lives. For some it has physical benefits, for others emotional or social ones. For everyone, quality of life is dramatically improved.

For example a 58 year old woman recovering from a severe stroke who had lost the ability to speak but was able to sing a whole song with her family after music therapy. Imagine how she and her family felt? Or the 5 year old autistic child who finally found his confidence to communicate in a music therapy group and could then start school, interacting with his classmates.

Nordoff Robbins receives no government funding. We rely on voluntary support for 85% of our income. Please donate now and help us to transform lives through music.

Meet Joshua…

Little Joshua was born with a genetic syndrome and many challenging symptoms including heart problems, flexible joints, reduced muscle tone and facial features.By 16 months, when he started music therapy, he was still the size of a three month old baby, unable to roll, let alone crawl. He formed very few sounds, and showed limited emotions. ‘From his very first moment in music therapy, Joshua was captivated. He now plays with the instruments and is eager to move and explore. What’s more, Joshua has started to ‘talk’. He can say mama, dada, baba, as well as a whole range of new noises. We are all amazed and inspired at how well Joshua responds to music. Music therapy has given Joshua his voice. Nordoff Robbins has made such a difference to our lives.’ Joshua’s Mum
