Why your donation matters

One25 is the only organisation specifically supporting around 280 women who are among Bristol’s poorest and most vulnerable individuals. Most are homeless, acutely malnourished and addicted to drugs or alcohol: because of this their safety and health is neglected. Last year our beneficiaries reported 241 violent attacks against them.

One25 gives them the intensive support needed to step away from the streets. ‘Beth’, wrote: “If it wasn’t for One25 I wouldn’t be where I am today – cleaned up, looking after my family, even going back into education…You gave me hope when no one else cared about me”

One25 are underfunded for next year but we don't want to cut our vital support to these vulnerable women. Your donations can make a life-changing difference these women and their families.

Case study: donations in action

Olivia has lived in the Bristol area for many years. She became a street sex-worker after fleeing a violent relationship and becoming homeless.

‘I came to be involved with One25 six or seven years back. I had a drug problem and I ended up working on the street and was homeless as well and in a really, really dark place.

‘One of the girls said come along here [to One25] and at least you can get a hot meal. What you can expect is a lot more than a hot meal: it’s a friendly face, we’re safe, if someone attacks you, they’ve got the power to photograph [any injuries]. They don’t judge you.

'I’ve got one step to go - [becoming] fully clean. I’ve been off street drugs for eight months.

‘I’ve got some good friends from One25. I’m at college studying counselling, I’m in a stable relationship and I’m in touch with my family again. It’s all very much down to One25. They’re fantastic. I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for One25, either physically or emotionally.’
