Case study: donations in action
I'm Amy, I'm 24, visually impaired and live life to the full. I was six when I first went to Sense Scotland, This was my time, I could do what I wanted, choose the activities I took part in and have fun.
One of the things we relied on most was the Family Advisory Service, paid for completely by kind gifts. Over the years it has helped me and my family in lots of ways. It’s hard to try and explain how life is when you have a disability.
My dream was to live an independent life. I said from a young age I wanted a job, a flat, a career. When I left school I heard the word 'impossible' but Pat, the Family Advisor, helped me to get my own home which I am so proud of and a job working in admin in Sense Scotland. I love my work!
When I look back over the last 18 years, I can’t really express how much we have gained from having Sense Scotland in our lives. It really has made a world of difference to me.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my story and if you can, please help make more dreams come true.
