This is Chris and Jason's just giving page for their "Tough Guy" charity run on 29th January 2012.
We will be running a 8 mile course, part of which includes obstacles designed to test your nerve and endurance. Apart from the extreme cold we must get over or run through 40 foot 'A' frames, electrified barriers, fields of fire, long sewer pipes (you have to crawl through them as well as over them unfortunately) several ponds and a river (during the coldest day of the year). We are raising funds for two charities close to our hearts and our communities - MRSA Action UK (see http://mrsaactionuk.net - a charity that supports people affected by hospital acquired infections, and campaigns to raise awareness about the rising incidence of infection) and the Mercy Ships organisation (see http://www.mercyships.org.uk - a charity that supports people with no access to medical care in the third world, supported and assisted by our local church, St Mary the Virgin, Datchet).
Funds raised will split equally between these charities. The Mercy Ships funds will be channelled through St Mary's, who have a member that works on one of the ships as a nurse.
We all need medical care in our lives at some point, and these charities go some way to ensuring the less well catered for are given the help they need, so please give generously.
