Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page.

The Challenge:
To go from London to Paris in 24 hours without any form of motor.
The team will leave London just after first light and cycle to Dungeness on the Coast, there they will change into wetsuits and Kitesurf across the channel with the aim of breaking both individual and Team world records, currently 2 hours 18 and 2 hours 40 for the team time.

We have a 3 week window of opportunity in which to complete the 24 hour journey, This is the last week of May and the first two weeks of June. The longer daylight hours in June will be useful however the chances of having a favourable northerly wind is higher in May.

The Members:
- Tristan Cawte - 28 – Sponsored by Liquid Force Kitesurfing, keen runner, taking part in a half marathon as part of the training. Previously rode the London to Brighton 100km night ride so very used to night cycling and appropriate training, crossed the channel with Thomas in 2008

- Thomas Cawte – 30 – Sponsored by Liquid Force Kitesurfing, sponsored snowboarder, taking part in a variety of sports including swimming, previously kitesurfed across the channel.

- Alex Thomson - 27 – Keen cyclist and Kitesurfer, leaves on an around the world cycle in Mid to late June, An environmentalist trying to start a campaign to help clear up the rubbish by the roads and countryside it can be seen here: http://www.letsdothisthing.info/

- Rupert Cawte – 26 – Takes part in many sports including snowboarding for which he is sponsored, kitesurfing, swimming previously competing at university level and a keen cyclist both road and mountain biking.

More details and videos can be seen of the team on The Kitesurf Centre Team page:http://www.thekitesurfcentre.com/kitesurfing-school/the-team

Currently we are being trained by Daniel Church, he is a sports coach specialising in strength and conditioning and sports psychology. He along with one other cyclist may join for the cycle and will be with the attempt for the whole journey.

Tomas Cetra/ – Osteopath, Making sure we are all healthy and our bodies are working well, helping us with any aches and injuries during training.

Thomas and Tristan have both previously crossed the channel kitesurfing and we will be aiming to follow the same route starting at Dungeness in East Sussex and aiming to the North side of Boulogne-sur-Mer in France. This is around 30 miles so with a good wind the record should be reachable. We will be supported by Full Throttle Boat Charters, who also supported Tom and Tristan's previous crossing.

There are currently no records held by any of the team members however Rupert is trying to break the British snowboard speed record in March hoping to break the 100mph barrier.

The planned route leaves from Jubilee Park London at day break, head to Dungeness, cross to France aiming for the coast between Wissant and Boulogne Sur Mer, then head due south going through Abbeville, Beauvais with the finish in the Champs Elysees. At this point the aim will be a sprint finish however this is probably a little optimistic.
