What’s it about?
There’s a milestone in Yatton Keynell, Wiltshire that says 97 miles to Hyde Park Corner, but we're doing it the "wrong way round", so we start in London and finish in Yatton Keynell. From London to Yatton Keynell via the A4. Distance: 97 miles, of course – maybe further if we get lost!
We’re not trying to break speed records we’re just trying to do the miles!
When does it start?
It’s expected that about 100 riders will take part with some doing the full distance and some doing half the distance. As we’re doing the full distance we will be starting in London between 5am and 6am on Sunday June 12th.
And when does it finish?
Based on previous years, the organisers expect most people to arrive back in Yatton Keynell between 1pm and 4pm - although some have arrived before 12 noon. We won’t be though!!
What happens at the finish?
The finish line is The Bell Inn in Yatton Keynell. Friends, families, supporters and spectators are welcome to come and join the festival atmosphere to welcome all riders home. There will be music, a barbeque, the bar will be open, and there will be various stalls.
Will the event go ahead, whatever the weather?
Yes. Let’s all hope for a sunny day, but if it’s raining the event will still go ahead.
How will you know how we’re doing?
There will be a high tech piece of equipment used on the day so the people at the finish line in Yatton Keynell know where all the riders are. We will be texting our position to the ride organisers at various waypoints and they will mark your position on the board - so everyone will know when we’re expected to cross the finish line.
