On August the 18th, Luke Higgins, Tim Boughton and Christian Kirkup are embarking on a 186 mile walk from Poppit to Amroth, along the Pembrokeshire coastal path, over 12 days. The walk is the equivalent of 7.2 Marathons, and the height gained (ascent plus descent) is more than the height of Mount Everest (35,000).
Make-A-Wish is a charity with a single purpose – they grant magical wishes to children and young people aged 3-17 fighting life-threatening illnesses. Since they launched in 1986 the charity has granted over 6,700 wishes - 2011 is their 25th Anniversary. Over 20,000 children in the UK are living with a life-threatening illness and we believe few things can be more important, or more deserving, than giving a seriously ill child the chance to have their wish come true; with all the hope, expectation and happiness that brings. Make-A-Wish is expert in wish-granting; it is all that they do, each and every day. This year alone, 1,200 children will turn to them to have their special wish granted. They want to grant a wish to all of these, and by donating, you will be doing your part in this. At present they are granting around 70 wishes a month and their ambition is to grant 85 wishes every month by the end of 2012. They need to raise at least £5.5 million this year to reach this goal. Make-A-Wish is about passion, expertise, trust and fairness. Their wishes are about magic, hope, smiles and memories, and with one donation, you can be a part of this Magical charity.
