We will be running to South West Area weekend in Weymouth! 50 miles! leaving Wednesday 6th March and running to Sherbourne on the 7th we need to get from Sherbourne to Dorchester and then we plan to get from Dorchester to somewhere in Weymouth by Friday lunchtime! We will keep you updated when we have a more precise time and location. It's all for charity so please donate if you can otherwise buy us a drink when we get there!! If you can think of anything that may help us on the way please contact either Abbie Myers or myself :) We will be in need of accommodation if anyone knows of anywhere in Sherbourne and Dorchester?
The charity Abbie has chosen to raise money for is Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance a local charity that has helped many people including family friends.
They are a local Service – provided for local people – supported by local people
The operational costs of our helicopter are £1.5m a year, that’s approximately £4,000 per day. We receive no funding from the Government or the National Lottery and rely almost entirely on the generosity of the public to ensure we keep flying.
Katie is raising money for Parkinson's UK. Parkinson's is a progressive neurological condition which has greatly affected members of Katie's family.
Parkinson's UK look at why Parkinson's occurs, the wide variety of symptoms the condition may cause and the range of treatments and support available. There's currently no cure for Parkinson's.
