Story
Hi Guys,
Iain, Adam, Rich and Andy are swimming 10Km on 26th May 2014 to raise money for the Stillbith and Neonatal Death Charity (SANDs).
For those of you who don't know the other team members, Iain and his wife Caroline sadly lost their baby daughter Evie when she was stillborn in October 2013.
When it happened, they were looked after at Guys and St Thomas's Hospital, London and were lucky enough to be able to stay in the hospital's SANDs suite; 2 bespoke rooms away from the main birth ward to give them a private place to stay, and for family and friends to visit until they felt ready to leave. Sadly not all hospitals have this facility.
The charity also provided a large amount of supporting literature to guide them through the subsequent days, weeks and months. Particularly regarding leaving hospital, going back to work and moving on with life. It helped them both a huge amount and they are really grateful to SANDs for the support they could provide.
Both the suite they stayed in, and the support given were only possible due to the money raised for the SANDs charity, and we want to ensure that others who go through similar experiences have the same levels of support available to them. It really helps.
Many of you have already provided so much support to Iain and Caroline over the last few weeks and months. We'd be really grateful if you could donate a small amount, to help others in similar circumstances.
Thank you all in advance. Hope to see you soon!
Iain, Adam, Andy and Rich
