The Asian Forum Orphanage came about after Asian Forum member Scorpy noticed that there were many other members of this online forum who wanted to sponsor an orphan but could not afford to provide the full cost of an annual sponsorship, nor could they set up a direct debit due to their financial circumstances. Hence came the idea communal, forum sponsorship and a fundraising page was created where everybody was able to donate whatever they could.
Thanks to the generosity of Asian Forum members, many of whom donated time and time again, the Asian Forum Orphanage raised enough money in Ramadhan 2010 to sponsor 11 orphans from the town of Ramadi, Iraq for one whole year.
These orphans still need our prayers and our financial support. Ramadhan is almost upon us and we want more forum members and their loved ones to get involved this year so that we can renew our communal sponsor and also increase it, insha-Allah. So please get your money together and make the intention to donate in the blessed month of Ramadhan, insha-Allah.
