We've joined together to raise money for The Bridges Project in Hull, which is a residential substance mis-use facility run by the charity RAPT, and fighting addiction on the front line.
RAPt (the Rehabilitation for Addicted Prisoners Trust) works to help people with drug and alcohol dependence, both in prison and in the community, move towards, achieve and maintain positive and fulfilling drug-free and crime-free lives.
It's a simple enough strategy..
'break the cylce of addiction and you break the cycle of crime...'
Empowering the individual to return to society as an asset, not a burden.
The Bridges is a second stage facility, (the first stage usually having been completed by the client in prison) that helps ex offenders confront their behaviours and challenges their long term redundent thinking.
RAPt has had unparalled success in turning the lives around of this select group of people. Returning them back to their families, Restoring their honour and self esteem, Helping them with all sorts training and finding pathways back to work.
We 'the skydive team' have seen the massive impact the Bridges has made on the lives of these men, so we are jumping out a 'perfectly good aircraft!!' thousands of feet in the air to raise money for this worthy charity.
