The first Datsun to be valued at $1 million will shortly be travelling from London to Cape Town to raise funds and awareness on behalf of under-privileged children in India and South Africa. The car will be guided to Cape Town by David Hiscox and Alex Thistlethwayte. They have set themselves an ambitious target of raising $1m in donations and sponsorship on behalf of two children’s charities:
Right Now Foundation – India
Starfish Greathearts Foundation – South Africa
The rally leaves London on January 1st 2012 and will continue for 13,500 km until finally reaching Cape Town on Jan 31st 2012
Rally related costs will not be deducted from donations / sponsorship as Thistlethwayte and Hiscox will be funding these personally.
To assist Alex and David in raising $1m, the Coal Desk and friends will be running 5 miles in Lydiard Park on 15th Dec to raise money for these 2 childrens charities

The 5 mile lunchtime run entry is £5, but none runners are also invited to contribute. All money received will be Quadrupled before being donated to one of the above charities
