I am aiming to raise money for two great charities The Royal Drawing School and Midlands Air Ambulance.
As the MD of Vale Brothers Ltd I have spent many years manufacturing products for the Equestrian market without ever being personally involved with horses. At the age of 54 I decided to 'take up the reins' after all 'how hard can it be'?
My fund raising idea is to take part in a 40K Endurance ride on horse back. This doesn't sound too difficult for an experienced horse rider, however this is something I'm clearly not!
To date I have had a total of 30 lessons, of which most have taken place in the safe surroundings of a riding school!
On the 12th May 2017 at Great Windsor Park I will be competiting amongst professional competitors from around the world in the Endurance GB ride - Class 40km GER. I will be putting a lot of trust in to my four legged friend 'Billy' and it's fair to say he knows a great deal more about Endurance than I do!
