TWO AWARD WINNING LOCAL COMPANIES TREK 100KM ACROSS THE SAHARA FOR CHARITY
Jayne Prigent owner of the Jas Hair Group has organised for six members of her team in the Salisbury and Wilton salons along with Henri Lupi-Lawrence owner of Henri’s the Barbers in Castle St, Salisbury to trek 100km across the Sahara Dessert for charity this October.
They will be subjected to 40 degree heat during the day and plunging temperatures at night across ten days to raise money for two local charities. The Sahara desert stretches from the snow capped High Atlas mountains of Morocco in the west, to the Red Sea coast 4800km to the East. Its landscape varies from a stony flat expanse to perfect wind blown sand dunes, broken only by the occasional oasis. At one point in the trek they will be climbing a sand dune over 400 feet said to be the same height as Salisbury Cathedral.
Henri‘s the Barbers are supporting Lucys Days Out, a local charity for sick children that will make one of their dreams come true and the Jas Hair team have been raising money for the Stars Appeal Pembroke Unit Fund.
