Karibu! We're KOP Leeds & this year we're aiming to be even bigger and better than ever!
INFORMATION ABOUT KOP
KOP was set up in 2001 by a group of medical students at Nottingham University, with the aim to improve the lives of orphans and vulnerable children, through the support of local projects. It is based specifically in an area called Kisumu, a region which has one of the highest HIV incidences in Kenya.
INFORMATION ABOUT KOP LEEDS
KOP Leeds has been running for 5 years raising an amazing £50,000+ through ‘swimming the channel’, running half marathons, baking cakes and bag packs to name a few! All of this money directly funds KOP Projects, including HOVIC, recently seen on Sport Relief – KOP Leeds 2011 met David Walliams while he was filming!!
Students who travel to Kenya take part in a 2 week project over the summer holidays, getting the opportunity work in local school, centres for street children and feeding centres to experience first-hand the difficulties these communities face. You will help to teach lessons on healthcare and daily living, aimed at improving the health of the children and their families.
