LONDON MARATHON CHARITY FUNDRAISER 2011
As you will be aware, I have decided to run London again after a six year absence. I have realised through the training that the body is not as supple as it once was but stubborn perseverance has always been a strong point!
I have decided to run for Leonard Cheshire Disability and for The Good Life Orphanage in Kenya. I have included below a brief summary of the work that these charities undertake.
At the outset I want assure you that every last penny of sponsorship goes directly to these charities to be spent on those less fortunate than ourselves. There are no deductions for administration, expenses or bureaucracies within these charities.
Leonard Cheshire (www.lcdisability.org) is a superb organisation specialising in the support and care for those with learning difficulties. I would encourage you to spend a couple of minutes looking at their website to attain an overview of the fantastic work that this charity undertakes every day.
I would also like to support an orphanage that is very close to my heart. Established by great friends that have given up their lives to provide a positive life for babies and young children in a remote area of Africa, this charity has achieved an immense amount in a short period but needs constant support. Lives have truly been transformed and saved by this wonderful charity. Again, please take a look at their site (www.thegoodlifeorphanage.com).
I am well aware our ability to support charities has been curtailed in recent years with the economic environment becoming more hostile. Therefore, your support is greatly appreciated by me and the charities that I shall represent.
Kindest regards
Eliot
