So this is it....having had several comments over Christmas regarding how 'well' I was looking I decided to get back in shape.
A 100 hour exercise challenge kick-started my efforts followed by the idea to run for at least 40-minutes a day during 40 days in lent. Running around the streets of Timperley in the small hours became something of an addiction and the next step was to throw my hat in the ring and make my marathon debut at this years Greater Manchester Marathon.
I'm running to raise funds for 2 fantastic causes that are important to us a family and I'd love your support to inspire the 33,000 paces it will take to get around the course!
Dignity is a visionary Christian organisation with a goal is to change the culture of rural Africa, both by spreading the good news of Jesus and by alleviating poverty. They work as a catalyst to help lift people out of crushing poverty without creating any sense of dependency.
Timmy's page rasies money for the Maternity Unit at Wythenshawe Hospital who cared so wonderfully for our good friends when their son was born asleep on 27th March 2011. Andy and Amanda have helped raise more than £22,000 in Timmy's memory and with your help both Andy and I will find the marathon a little bit easier knowing that other families will benefit from our efforts.
