The RCN and the RCN Foundation have joined the Cavell Nurses’ Trust Mount Cavell Challenge. Four participants from RCN Council, RCN staff and the Foundation will embark on climbing Mount Cavell in Canada in August. The team made up of supporters of the RCN Foundation and Cavell Nurses Trust will ride, hike and climb the mountain in memory of Edith Cavell in the centenary year of her death.
The RCN Foundation participants are RCN Council member for Eastern region Carol Evans, Deputy RCN President Professor Rod Thomson FRCN, Chair of Congress Stuart McKenzie and RCN Foundation Grants Officer Lewis Allett. Between them they are aiming to raise £20,000 for the RCN Foundation and Cavell Nurses trust to support nurses in times of need.
