The Background
Richard Macaire, a successful businessman and fellow climber of Mount Kilimanjaro who was with fellow fundraisers during the famous fund-raising Challenge of 2003, finally lost his battle with prostate cancer and sadly passed away last year.
The challenge
In his memory, and to raise funds for Prostate Action, a group of 10 of us, including many grizzled veterans from our previous walking challenges, are travelling to the Himalaya Mountains in Nepal in September this year. There, we will embark on a 10-day trek through some of the most inhospitable mountain terrain in the world, trekking and climbing 25 – 30 miles every day and sleeping in two-man tents.
Our Fundraising Target
We are aiming to raise more than £350,000 for Prostate Action, to add to the £1.3 million our kind supporters have already raised from supporting previous challenges, including the gruelling GR20 trek in Corsica last year.

Prostate disease affects one in two men at some point in their lives. Prostate Action funds research and education to beat all prostate diseases. We believe that by funding the best research and educati ng medical professionals around the country we can make a difference for all men today and in the future.
