On Friday 16th September 2011, the members of Sherlockology will be attending the ‘Open House London Night Hike’, a twenty-mile walk through late night London, to show our support for Maggie’s Centres and raise money to help them continue their incredible work in providing those effected by cancer with whatever is needed. Whether it be supporting sufferers who have just been diagnosed, undergoing treatment or post-treatment, recurrence, end of life or in bereavement, Maggie’s is there and is an AMAZING charity which needs our support to enable them to support others.
Last year’s London Night Hike was attended by the star of the BBC drama Sherlock, Benedict Cumberbatch who is a supporter of Maggie’s. After seeing Benedict’s recent film ‘Third Star’ which sees his character James coming to terms with being diagnosed with terminal cancer, Team Sherlockology was so moved by this devastating story that we felt compelled to find out what we could do to help. Upon finding Maggie’s we decided to attend the 2011 London Night Hike to show our love and support for such a remarkable cause.
