Five brave Circle employees have taken up the double challenge of running the London Marathon, this year, and raising money for Alone in London, our own youth homelessness organisation.

Alone in London provides crisis support to young people, who have run away from home and to those who are thinking of running away. Every year, over 1500 young people contact the helpline or visit the drop-in centre. All of them face tremendous challenges, with many in a desperate state after experiencing physical, emotional or even sexual abuse and suffering mental health issues. Most come in as a result of family breakdown or eviction, or after leaving an institutional environment like prison or the care system. A significant number are further disadvantaged by poor levels of education.
Alone in London’s services include advice and guidance, mental health counseling and advice on education, vocational training and employment. However, in the first instance, the priority is to find a safe place for them to stay, where they can have the stability they need to get their lives back on track.
What also distinguishes Alone in London is its prevention work. Through its Family Mediation service and its Schools Work Project, it helps young people avoid situations that may lead to homelessness.
With your support, at least 150 vulnerable young people will benefit from the £30,000 we aim to raise for Alone in London’s crisis support services.
