Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page. As we're supporting more than one charity, we've had to setup a team page.
When donating, you can select which charity you'd like to support or you can spread your donation by giving a little to all three.
You'll see our team fundraising target on the right. Your donation can really help us smash this goal
Remember: Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never share them with anyone or send you unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. They'll make sure Gift Aid (an additional 28%) is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer, too. That means more money goes to the charity, faster, with JustGiving.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Our Story
Whilst enjoying a warm sailing charter holiday in Greece, Sam said to Paul:
“Wouldn’t it be wonderful to sail
our own boat around the UK.”
Paul said “Yes!” and never looked back.
A little over one year later, the dream that started at anchor off a sparkling Greek island is about to be realised.
The dream realised
We feel very lucky to finally now have the chance to live that dream. Although we may feel daunted by the whole challenge as at times it will be very hard, we know it will be well worth it for the truly remarkable times and the money we can raise for charity.
With this in mind we hope we can inspire many of you to kindly donate to the amazing work of Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie Cancer Care, and the Diving Diseases Research Centre. See our website WhiteTiger362.com for more information or to follow our challenge. All your donations go directly to the charities.
Cancer is a horrendous disease that touches the lives of many people. Treatment these days is improving thanks to continuing advances in research, yet the effect on the personal lives of the individual and their family is devastating. Sam, Paul & White Tiger are raising money for Cancer support charities to provide essential care to help people cope with the disease. Macmillan Cancer Support provide practical assistance in helping people through the difficult treatment and recovery process. Marie Curie Cancer Care provide an invaluable service providing specialist care to families suffering with terminal cancer.
- The Diving Diseases Research Centre
In 2008 & 2009 Paul suffered a series of unexplained diving incidents, requiring recompression treatment. Whilst in the excellent care of the Diving Diseases Research Centre in Plymouth he was amazed by the range of work the DDRC are doing in advancing medical care for many common conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, and wound healing. “In the days I spent with the DDRC team it was encouraging to be outnumbered by so many non-divers who had clocked up so many more dry dives”.
Hyperbaric medicine is still relatively poorly understood, and the DDRC is one of the leading centres in this area. “Though I never discovered the cause of my diving problems, the research that has been undertaken, often in the emergency treatment of divers like me has benefited so many more people, and I’m very proud to support the DDRC in their ongoing work”.
Our expedition is entirely self-funded, and all of our travel costs are being met from our own budget. 100% of your donation will go towards these brilliant charities. Where goods or services have been received from marine companies in support of our expedition an equivalent cash sum will be donated by us into the charity fund.
Thank you.
Sam & Paul
