This awesome Yorkshire Water IT team has entered into the famous 6 peaks challenge to raise money for Water Aid, Yorkshire Water designated charity. Water Aid is an international non governmental organisation whose mission is to transform lives by improving access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation in the world's poorest communities.
The 6 Peaks Challenge is to visit the summits of the highest peaks of the six regions of the British Isles (England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and Isle of Man), all within 72 hours! In total the team will walk 50miles, climb 20000 feet, drive 1000 miles, cross 2 seas climbing Ben Nevis, Snaefell, Scarfell Pike, Snowdon, Slieve Donard, and Corran Tuathail.
The challenge is unforgettable in so many ways – combining teamwork, motivation, incredible scenery and physical endurance, whilst contributing to Water Aid’s work, bringing clean water and sanitation to some of the world’s poorest people.
The challenge has raised over £750,000 for WaterAid over the years. Each team has to raise a minimum of £5000 in sponsorship.
Clean water is essential for life, but one in eight people do not have it.
