Why your donation matters

The Sanctuary helps 300 young people dealing with the daily chaos of homelessness every year. Each month, we see up to 90 young people who don't have a home of their own, don't have enough money to eat and struggle to survive each day. For most of them, relationships with family have broken down irrevocably. Ohers have fled violent or abusive homes. Many have mental health problems or challenging behaviour. Almost all have difficulty trusting adults.

The Sanctuary helps young people in this situation to deal with the immediate crisis of homelessness and build the trust that will enable them to accept support to get their lives back on track.

Please, donate now. Your gift could help a young person survive the experience of homelessness and create a better life for themself.

Case study: donations in action

Jo was sleeping rough when he first visited the Sanctuary. He has bi-polar disorder, addiction problems and his relationship with his family had broken down. We helped him to secure a bed in a night-shelter and later, to get into temporary accommodation. We also put him in contact with mental health workers and have supported him to get back onto medication that will help him cope better. With our help, he has begun to re-build his relationship with his family and, drawing on all his confidence, enrolled on a training course which will help him to get work. Jo says of our support: “The great thing about the Sanctuary is that it doesn’t just focus on one problem, they try to help you with anything and everything, whatever you’re worried about.”
