In November 2010, Ham United Group received 105 free trees from the Woodland Trust to plant in Richmond.
Being just 15 miles from central London, space for tree planting could have been limited but by involving local people in the project, places were found across the Borough that gave all ages a chance to get planting.
Andrew Beedham said: "We split our pack up to plant across different locations in our neighbourhood to involve as many people in the community as possible. We started planting with the children at St Richard's Primary School, then joined tenants of a housing development planting in the communal garden, before finally getting the elderly residents of our local care home involved in greening their grounds. Everyone really enjoyed taking part and we want to apply for another pack for next Autumm".
