Story

Hello! 😌 decided to sign up to the 2024 London Marathon, never thinking I’d actually get a place. My first response when I received the email to say I got in was ‘oh for fuck sake’. BUT after giving myself a pep talk with the reasons behind signing up, I’m going to be taking on this challenge in the name of supporting Headway, a fantastic charity close to my heart.

Those who know me know I wouldn’t (couldn’t) run to save my life, so any encouragement would be hugely appreciated.

This charity means the world to me for a deeply personal reason. As many of you will know, in 2018, my mum suffered a life-changing brain injury, resulting in nearly 2 months in a coma, and 17 months in hospital. This injury has left her paralysed on her right side, and unable to speak. On that day and the following weeks, we nearly lost her several times, as well as losing part of myself. I spent most days in Addenbrooks hospital NCCU beside her bed, and I could not have got through without Headway. Their unwavering support not only helped my mum but also helped my family and I navigate through the toughest times of our life.

My goal is to raise £2000 for Headway, enabling them to continue their amazing work supporting individuals and families affected by brain injuries.

Your donation, no matter the size, will make a significant difference in the lives of others. Every step I take will be a testament to the strength of my mum and the incredible support we received, thanks to Headway.

Your support means everything to me and to the countless others who benefit from Headway's invaluable work.
