Our aim in starting the Festival was to promote music-making of the highest professional quality in the local area. Works are performed both by our own Festival Orchestra and also by a wide variety of visiting guest performers. Previous concerts have included everything from Vivaldi to Verdi and Elgar to Ellington in a wide range of musical styles .The festival also includes a substantial educational element offering a bursary scheme for local aspiring young musicians. We also hold Masterclasses and Study Days with top musicians.
