About us
We are a community-run library, created by local people for local people. Working in partnership with Hull City Council, we deliver a full public library service for both adults and children, supported by more than 60 Volunteer Library Assistants and many additional volunteers who help with the wide range of tasks that keep the library thriving.
Beyond lending books, we provide a welcoming community space offering clubs, activities and events for all ages. From children’s craft activities to social gatherings and community celebrations, we help bring people together. Our coffee corner, serving coffee and homemade cakes, offers a warm and friendly place for conversation and connection.
As an independent charity managed by a Trustee Board of local residents and volunteers, we also fundraise to sustain and grow our services. Every event, every cake baked and every hour volunteered reflects the strength and commitment of our community.
We exist not just to lend books, but to nurture learning, wellbeing and belonging at the heart of our neighbourhood.
