About Art for Refugees in Transition
Art for Refugees in Transition, A.R.T. provides training and support programs that enable grandparents or elders in refugee communities to teach their own cultural heritage, history and arts to their children. A.R.T.’s programs are powerful community builders that provide opportunities for refugees to establish or reinforce their sense of individual and cultural identity, to rebuild lost intergenerational bonds and to begin to heal emotional wounds. These activities help refugees recover from the trauma, terror, and dislocation of war and natural disaster.
