Visit the charity's profileAs Mecklenburg County's largest nonprofit provider of Early Childhood Education, there is no one better positioned to help serve the most vulnerable among us and lay the foundation for a love of learning that will last through graduation.
By increasing the number of classrooms we are able to operate, we can help reduce the number of children and families without reliable, affordable and quality early education. We are prepared and able to tackle this issue, but we cannot do it alone. It will be a true community effort to help get access to those who need it most.
Alliance Center for Education provides the following services to Mecklenburg County families:
1) Infant and toddler education opportunities for children birth to three. This takes place in traditional settings, such as center-based learning, and also through in-home visits to broaden our reach. 2) Pre-kindergarten education opportunities focus on preparing four and five year olds to make the seamless transition to Kindergarten. By working with our school partners, we ensure our students are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in school. 3) After School education opportunities help reinforce the lessons learned in school and enhance those experiences through curriculum-supporting, hands-on learning opportunities and community-based enrichment. 4) Comprehensive, wrap-around services that focus on the family as a whole. Families with access to resources for an improved all-around situation, like physical and mental health professionals, can create a better environment for learning.
Opportunities for partnership and growth are plentiful in Mecklenburg County, however, the funding is not automatic. We must make the initial investment in underserved communities to make these expansions a reality. Help is needed urgently to expand services in both Early Childhood Education and After School Enrichment programs.
Every contribution is greatly needed and appreciated. Your contribution of $100 can provide art supplies to a 4-year old classroom. Your donation of $1,000 can make field trips in the arts possible for middle-schoolers. Your gift of $10,000 can help expand classroom space.
Education is one of the best indicators of a successful future. The future of the next generation of Charlotteans rests in our hands. Your help can ensure they have the tools necessary to succeed.
