Trillium Health Partners strongly believes that patients who are in need of treatment and care should not be limited due to the constraints of income. As a result, the Compassionate Care Fund was developed to help support the extraordinary costs of cancer treatment and survivorship for cancer patients with lower or fixed income. The Fund is used to help cover costs of transportation for extended treatment i.e. support for parking, unexpected ambulance transport, other transportation for treatment, and medical supplies, including dilators for post-operative care, as well as medications and compression stockings for patients who either have no coverage or have been assessed to have financial need.
The Compassionate Care Fund helps support the extraordinary costs of cancer treatment and survivorship for cancer and palliative patients with lower or fixed income. For example:
- $200 will provide a vaginal dilator kit to manage treatment side effects
- $150 will provide a 30 visit parking pass at Trillium Health Partners
- $70 will provide a 10 visit parking pass at THP
- taxi chits to help patients get to and from appointments
Each year, with the help of community support, we are able to support many families receiving cancer care at Trillium Health Partners. Your generous donations will help to ensure that patients of our cancer program will not miss receiving care as a result of any financial barriers.
