Nadia is a vivacious high school senior, active in Mentis Teens Connect program. She has attended numerous Wellness Cafes where she and her peers have conversations about mental health and get connected to resources. Nadia also enjoys Teen Happy Hours for the social connection and various wellness activities they provide. She is a model for other young people; but things changed after a sudden loss in her family, and like anyone would, she struggled with grief. Through her participation with Teens Connect, Nadia believed she might benefit from therapy, and knew Mentis offers free, on site therapy at her school. She began working with Rosie, our clinician who helped Nadia process her grief. Within four months, Nadia worked through the hardest time in her life and felt strong enough to complete therapy. Because Mentis works to educate young people on good mental health habits, we help Nadia and others like her navigate the hurdles life can throw at us before they become paralyzing.
