The work of bringing excellent academic instruction to students for almost a century is as strong in the 100th year as it was in 1921. The face of leadership at Red Bird Christian School now comes mostly from alumni or people whose families have lived in the Red Bird area for generations. With economic opportunities being limited in the area due to the continuing decline of the coal industry, Red Bird Christian School is renewing vocational/technical education for the 21st Century. Plans for the 2020-21 school year are to launch offerings in computer networking/cyber security, with heavy equipment operation, additive manufacturing, patient care tech and medical administration tech in the second semester.
Alumni and friends of Red Bird Christian School are being called to begin the celebration of the centennial year of Red Bird School and launch this new era for our school through:
GIVING - Funding is needed every year to fill the tuition gap of more than $6,000 for students that cannot pull the full tuition and additional funding is implement the plans in place for the renewal of vocational/technical instruction for the 21st Century.
PARTICIPATING in the Red Bird School Alumni Association (RBSAA) Virtual Homecoming. We will be gathering for first ever virtual homecoming October 9-11, 2020. Videos will be posted of the new normal for school at Red Bird Christian School, a virtual meeting allowing live participation in the RBSAA annual meeting, and inspiring messages each day.
