Story
The Sea Isle City Beach Patrol Lifeguards Association is proud to partner with For Pete's Sake Cancer Respite Foundation for this event for the 51st Annual Captain Bill Gallagher 10 Mile Island Run. In September of 1999, Sea Isle City Beach Patrol said goodbye to former lifeguard Peter R. Bossow, Jr. after he lost his battle with testicular cancer.
Prior to his death at age thirty, Peter founded For Pete's Sake Cancer Respite Foundation.Since inception, For Pete's Sake has served nearly 10,000 individuals with Respite Experiences which provide cancer patients and their loved ones the opportunity to relax, refresh, renew and reconnect with one another.
This year Team FPS has a goal to raise $10,000! We are grateful for our team Captain, Tony DiBrino who began running this particular race to honor his late friend Gino. Learn more about his story and Tonys commitment to help FPS with our mission to serve by visiting his personal fundraising page on this website!
