Aquilino is an outpatient community cancer center, a place where every staff member is attuned to the needs of patients and families, and where the journey is a shared experience.
In partnership with the Shady Grove Medical Center, the Aquilino offers a comprehensive cancer program: from mammograms and CT scans to Surgical Services, genetic counseling, chemotherapy, radiation, clinical trials, rehabilitation, wellness programs, palliative care, and nutrition. Every member of the team strives to provide care that focuses on the whole person.
The trauma of a cancer diagnosis and treatment often takes a psychological toll on patients and their families. Within the Aquilinos newly created Center for Healing, a 2,700 square foot space dedicated to the mental and spiritual well-being of our patients, caregivers, clinicians and staff, vetted therapists and practitioners offer individual and group programsfree of chargeto maximize health and wellness.
The Aquilino is also one of very few facilities in the country where exciting trials are taking place, such as those exploring how psilocybin may relieve anxiety in cancer patients. At the Aquilino, roughly 12% of patients participate in hundreds of clinical trials, leaps and bounds above the Commission on Cancer benchmark of 4%.
Launch a fundraiser for an upcoming trial, for general cancer care, or to support wellness program so they remain free of charge for all patients and caregivers.
