Closes 31/10/2025
In the UK, there are approximately 3.5 million people living with cancer with someone receiving a diagnosis on average every 90 seconds.
For the last 16-years, Boots and Macmillan Cancer Support have been working in partnership to give everyone, everywhere, the cancer information and support they need. From the moment you or a loved one is diagnosed, through treatment and beyond, we’re here to offer advice and support, every step of the way.
On Thursday 11 September 2025, a team of Boots colleagues from across its stores, support office and supply chain will be lacing up their walking boots to do something mighty for Macmillan. On a mission to raise as much money as possible for those affected by cancer, they’ll be hiking either 6 or 14 miles around their home city of Nottingham.
All donations they raise will help fund essential Macmillan services, including:
Online Community - This is an online cancer forum with over 80,000 members, and they have all been impacted by cancer in some way. Support is available 24 hours a day, in a safe environment.
Macmillan Support Line – Trained advisors can provide confidential emotional support and practical information to people living with cancer and their loved ones.
Cancer information - Macmillan produces trusted, quality-assured and accessible information about all types of cancer, including diagnosis, treatments and drugs, as well as advice to help with the different ways cancer may impact your life.
Macmillan Buddies - Macmillan Buddies are volunteers who are trained to provide emotional support, ensuring people don’t have to face cancer alone.
Macmillan website - The Macmillan website is home to trusted, reliable and accessible information.
