Emerald Youth provides critical academic supports for youth in the heart of the city. Research has proven that there is a growing academic gap of 50 percent between these students and their suburban peers.

Our K-8 students receive homework help and tutoring through our afterschool and summer day programming, JustLead. This academic intervention and support provided is unique and custom-tailored to each child. As a result, we are seeing students improve in their math and reading scores, leading to greater success in the school day.

Through our Calling & Career ministry, high school students are equipped to take their next step in life, whether pursuing postsecondary education or other training. The support provided at a Calling & Career Center is intensive. The program goes beyond tutoring and homework help to include ACT prep, career exploration workshops, college tours, and job shadowing. We also pair students mentors who stay connected with them through their first two years after high school.
